Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone by Brene Brown
Essay 1 Prompt:
For this assignment, we have read about the concept of true belonging and steps we can take individually to enhance feelings of connection and belonging while remaining true to ourselves. For this assignment, I would first like you to explain the concept of true belonging and discuss what has contributed to the current state of disconnection among people, according to Brown. Next, you should summarize 2 of Brown’s steps for creating authentic human connection (chapters 4-7) and evaluate your own strengths and weaknesses in your two chosen areas: 1) People are hard to hate close up. Move in. 2) Speak Truth to Bullshit. Be Civil. 3) Hold Hands. With Strangers. 4) Strong Back. Soft Front. Wild Heart.
